Hello. Many of you know what i build..This model is 22 years old and located in my backyard. It runs up to 18 hrs a day. Full safety switches, wind speed indicator, lights and can carry up to 28 cabins with 1/2 lbs in each.. I build my models to last a lifetime. No plastic superstructure to rot. Real cable .All steel construction. Per year, it runs on average 2100 hrs per year. Enjoy and thank you.

you are a real von roll enthousiast (atleast by judging the vr 101 rope grip just laying in the background of the first photo). Nice ropeway!

Yes i am..I own alot of Von Roll VR 101 items. Grips hangar arms,sheaves, haul rope , maintenance manuals. Nameplates as well..Very high quality lifts they use to build compaired to what is out there today.. Thank you for the response

Thank you very much. I find building my own model ropeways to be more satisfying as nothing is store bought other than a few big pieces. . I encourage people to build there own models or at least buy something that will last a lifetime.

Yearly maintenance or revision. This year rebuilding a set of 8 sheave tower batterys. I rebuild my tower batterys every 5 years. Sandblast,primer, paint and machine sheaves. Having your own machine shop lathe ,mills Sanders, grinders ,sandblaster and others helps alot. These are now good for another 5 years to run.

Replaced tension bullwheel track bearings, bullwheel bearings. Drive bullwheel liner,. Yearly maintenance is key to any ropeway lasting a long time.

W1 tool steel.
All machiened and balanced.
Wont deteriorate like plastic or wood.
All fasteners 316 stainless steel.

A2 tool steel
W1 tool steel. Low maintenance factor. Rebuild every 10 years. Machiened with +/- .003 tolerance..

Building a entire new drive station for my model Von Roll. Made from 6061 T6 Aluminum. Machiened. New housing structure will be done with waterjet. . New motor, new bullwheel. Old drive will be preserved and possibly used for a 2nd model Von Roll going over my house into the front yard some 180 feet .

My model Von Roll at night. Has been on for 14 days non stop. 8 cabins. Has anyone ever left there model on for days ?
