Lego Cable Car
Hi guys. So I am building a Lego 3s ropeway and it is not working. I have a slew of problems.
1. The station has absolutely ZERO structural integrity
2. The deflection pulley gets stuck in the clamp.
3.(future problem) I am worried about the station not weighing enough
HELP
I will post photos soon

Re: Lego Cable Car
I can't see a deflection pulley on the pics.
If the station lacks integrity, add more connections between the parts.
You will mainly need integrity in the parts that tension the cable, so these are the deflection pulley and the bull wheel. Also, to tension the cable this might mainly be the reason why you would need more weight in the stations. I would suggest to solve this problem by using additional cables attached to the axis that holds the bull wheel on the one side and the deflection pulley on the other side, and to fix this cables to walls or a shelf on both sides. So all the tension needed would be between those fixed points at the walls and not burden on the stations.
Take a look at the deflection pulley in this video to understand what I mean.

You can build the station “around“ the pulley and the bull wheel, you don't need to use a fully flying construction as in the video, the goal is that the walls hold most part of the tension.

Re: Lego Cable Car
The deflection pulley is on the black j-part, on the second picture. Maybe I will post a vid explaining the problems?

Re: Lego Cable Car
The main problem is that when I put on the gondola, the track goes down about 1/4-1/2 inch. And I can't add diagonal beams from the posts, they will block the gondola.Bjoerndetmold hat geschrieben: ↑09.03.2021 - 10:57 I can't see a deflection pulley on the pics.

Show us a picture with the gondola attached, so wen can see what you mean.I LiKe 3S GoNdOlAs hat geschrieben: ↑09.03.2021 - 17:48 The main problem is that when I put on the gondola, the track goes down about 1/4-1/2 inch. And I can't add diagonal beams from the posts, they will block the gondola.
You are getting few replies because this is mainly a site about skiing, ropeways and the alps, and not about models or lego. So perhaps there are probably quite a lot of people here who know much about ropeway. But only some of them also are fond of Lego... So people are interested and reading, but don't have better ideas.
And as already has been pointed out, you are writing in English, and this is a German language site.

Re: Lego Cable Car
Guys I have some bad news. So I have given up the cable car... But before I leave this forum for a long time(maybe I will come back if i try again) there are a few things that I want to say. First, to whoever told me to glue legos, great idea, but 1, i am a purist, and 2 I just dont want to glue things. Second, thank you guys so much. Goodbye and Peace
